It is with heavy hearts that the family of Diane Elizabeth Steiger, 67 of Glace Bay announce her peaceful passing January 29th, 2025, at Maple Hill Manor with her family and friends by her side.

Diane enjoyed her days with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Reserve Mines Pensioners Club. She was a kind, caring and loveable person who loved her family passionately. Diane loved to make those around her laugh and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In her younger years she enjoyed camping at MacKeigan’s campground every summer with her loving husband John. If you spent any time with Diane and John, you instantly felt the love they had for each other.

Diane is survived by her brother Walter McKenzie (Carol), sister Elaine McKenize, stepson Billy Steiger (Cathy), stepdaughter-in-law Cheryl Steiger (Wayne) and stepdaughter Beverly Steiger along with 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great-great Grandchild.

Predeceased by her husband John Steiger, parents Alexander and Theresa McKenzie, brother Eric McKenzie, sister-in-law Cheryl McKenzie, stepson John Wayne Steiger, stepdaughter Debbie and Linda Steiger, great-granddaughter Chloe Greenough Steiger.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at Maple Hill Manor for their exceptional care given to Diane during her stay.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. A celebration of life will take place February 2, 2025, from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. at the Reserve Mines Seniors and Pensioner Club, 165 Mains St., Reserve Mines.
