Obituary of Phyllis Marie Reid
Please share a memory of Phyllis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phyllis Marie Reid, 86 of Halifax, NS. passed away January 21, 2025, at Hants Regional Hospital, Windsor. Born in Halifax, NS she was the daughter of Harold and Lorraine Garnier.
Phyllis was a government worker all her life being the Assistant to the Director at Nova Scotia Community College, Facilities Division for 20 years. She was the best Hockey mom to me growing up.
These two poems sum up my dear mom to me:
My Mother's Presence
By Kelly Roper
My mother's presence always warmed our home
With peace and security and love.
She was like a gentle breeze that wafted through
Setting things right, creating a haven for us all.
Whatever problems we had, Mom solved them.
Whatever triumphs we had, Mom celebrated them.
Whatever needs we had, Mom fulfilled them.
Surely such a mother could never drift far
From those she loved with all her heart.
Though she has left her earthly body behind,
I feel her presence still.
Mom remains close to me, she knows my sorrow,
And she enfolds me in invisible arms I can still feel,
And she comforts me.
Remembering Mom
By Kelly Roper
There are many things I'll remember
About my mom.
How soft her hands were,
How her eyes sparkled,
How her smile lit up her entire face.
I'll remember the hearty sound of her laugh,
And the tone of her voice when
Someone disappointed her.
But most of all, I'll remember how I felt
When she said to me, "I love you."
That was the best feeling in the world,
To know this very special woman
Loved me with all her heart.
Of all the memories that may dim
In the coming years,
That feeling is something I know
I'll never forget. And I just want to say,
I love you too, Mom.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Anthony Harold Reid; brother, Sonny (Ron) wife Toni Garnier; sisters, Shirley Garnier, and Barbara Boudreau.
