It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Brenda (Baxter) MacDougall on Thursday, October 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 22, 1949, in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Henry Danks Baxter and Kathleen Evelyn Currie, and stepdaughter to Lila Rumbolt.


Brenda is survived by her son Andrew MacDougall (Theresa) and daughter Lori; grandchildren Wade, Devyn, Brittany, and Damon; brother Arthur Baxter (Kathy), sister LeeAnne (George) Watt; as well as many nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.


Along with her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her loving husband Derek (Rick) MacDougall, sister Mary (Baxter) MacDougall, brother-in-law Frank MacDougall, brothers Robert (Bobby) and Frankie (Arbuckle) Baxter, and nephew Shane MacDougall.


At this time, we would like to thank the staff at 3 East, Glace Bay General Hospital, for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our mom, words can not express how thankful we are to you all! We would also like to thank T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, Glace Bay, for their care and compassion.


As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
