Obituary of Art Morrison Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Morrison Junior, age 61, of Halifax. Art passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. Born in New Waterford, NS, Art was a loving son to Arthur Morrison and Rose Morrison (Longphee). He is survived by his sister, Corrina Suesser (Ulrich), brother, Malcolm Morrison (Elaine Legge), son, Arthur, nephew, Konrad Suesser, and nieces, Kirsten Suesser and Jenna Lynn Morrison. Art was predeceased by his brother, Greg Morrison. Art is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Ann Campbell (Morrison), Colleen McPherson (Morrison), Rita Morrison, Ozzy Marsman, Al and Betty Longphee, and Marge Longphee. He leaves behind numerous cousins and close friends, including Ivan MacAulay and Raymond MacDonald. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ronald Morrison and Violet Morrison (Burke), Anthony Longphee and Catherine Longphee (MacDonald), and several aunts and uncles: Lorna Morrison Campbell, Marie Marsman (Morrison), Theresa Walsh (Longphee), Malcolm Morrison, Angus Campbell, Adrian Morrison, Greg Longphee, Joseph (Teddy) Longphee, Gordon Longphee, Jerry Muggeridge, Cameron (Cammie) Longphee, Daniel (Dan) Longphee, Angus Buddy Longphee, Patrick Walsh, and Ronald Ronnie Morrison, along with numerous cousins. Art worked for several companies over the years and volunteered at Connections Halifax - NSHA Mental Health & Addictions Centre up until his passing. Art was always willing to jump in and help in any capacity asked, and he will be sadly missed by the Connections Halifax Community. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. The impact of Art’s life on the people around him and those he helped cannot be overstated. He will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, 9:00 - 10:00 am, service will follow in the chapel at 10:00 am, Fr. Evo Dipierro officiating. A reception will take place following the service. Interment to be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 2643 Kings Road, Sydney Forks, Nova Scotia B1L 1A1, on Monday, September 16th, at 11:00 am.
