Sadly, I missed the news of Laura's death, but have thought of her often over the years. We worked together at both Neptune Theatre and later at CCL. Lots of wonderful memories — like the one of Ruth Goldbloom tap dancing in my boots at Vicki's wedding reception in Glen Haven, and of being with the Bennets in their house on Dalhousie St., watching Denny Doherty win an ACTRA award for his role in my husband's radio play. And of me turning up that that same house one traumatic afternoon to find a toilet paper banner over the door, reading " Happy Mental Health Day!" I, and the rest of the world, miss you Laura.

Laura and Jim meant so much for us. What a remarkable couple, each a powerhouse. Laura’s arrival at CCL transformed our young business, internally and externally. She was a leader to all, a great partner and mentor. She combined drive and judgement. We often travelled together as a foursome and have wonderful memories of those days of adventure and laughter. She was a trail blazer in so many ways, as Board Chair of The IWK,she made a big difference especially with her unwavering support of the needs of Children and their Families, among many accomplishments she was instrumental in the establishment of the IWK Telehon, and the visit of Pope John Paul. I’m so sad to read about Laura. She was such an outstanding and inspiring friend. I have so many memories spending time learning from her over the years. Together Jim and Laura were a dynamic pair sharing stories, songs, gourmet treats and their natural talent for including friends in their lives.
