We were so sad to see the terrible news of Hinka's passing. We have two Abysinnian cats that we love dearly and we have Hinka to thank for that. We always found Hinka to be a lovely, charming woman with a great sense of humour. To all family and friends of Hinka - please accept our condolences for the loss of this wonderful woman.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Hinka. Rick, you may not recall, but my wife, Sue, shared a hospital room with Hinka at the Grace Maternity Hospital in late 1984. This is where we met. I think having Hinka as a roommate made the hospitalization just a bit more bearable for her. I hope you find some peace.

My most sincere and hearfelt condolences on the sudden passing of your mother. I met Hinka back in December of 2006 to pick out our first abyssinian. Continued on to purchase another three. I always looked to you mom for any aby questions I had. Your mom was a beautiful lady inside and out, and I feel very blessed to have know her. I was totally shocked upon seeing the obituary today. So sorry to hear of Hinka's passing, very sad news. We first met Hinka when we got Zula, our Abyssinian cat but we also knew Hinka through rockhounding groups and had been out together several times to enjoy finding pretty rocks and enjoying nature. She will be missed, our condolences to the family. - Darren and Pam Talbot

I remember Hinka when she was just a little girl living with her family on the farm in Brookvale. (We called her ”Pinky”). I was her Sunday School teacher for a couple of years. My sincere condolences to her family. Carol (Cox) McManaman

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Hinka as a capable freight forwarder from Kuehne & Nagel but also, and far more importantly, as a lovely, creative, adventurous human being. Hinka was such pleasure to talk to and laugh with. I admired her jewelery pieces and she regaled me with tales of rock climbing off the cliffs along the way to Cape Split. I thought then and still do that she was wonderful, an adventurer hidden amid the day to day business hurly-burly. After she left K&N, I often thought of her and will always remember her.

David and I want to extend our deep condolences to Hinka’s family. We met Rick and Hinka at a cat show several years ago and were struck by their kindness. When we wanted to have an Aby, I had several conversations with Hinka and her wisdom and the time she spent with me led to us getting two Abys, Coco and Angel, two litter mates from Flash and Diego. Hinka would come and visit them at Christmas and then we would meet for coffee. She has been someone I counted on to be here for us, and so we grew to love her very much. We are so sad that Hinka has passed, but she will forever be remembered as such a lovely woman of great depth.

Justin and Ryan, we are so very sorry to read about the death of your mom. We knew your dad and mom through our Beaver Bank wine swaps. When your dad died suddenly it was a shock to all of us. Now your mom, unbelievable to get the news of her death. You are both in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time! Sincerely - Mike & Jean Bevan

So sorry for the loss of your Mom. We knew her as mother to our 2 sets of kittens Charley and Pixel and TK and Vinney. We first met Hinka in 2017 when we travelled to the east coast from Ontario to bring Charley and Pix home, and again in 2022 to bring home TK and Vinney. It was obvious from our first visit what a kind and caring woman Hinka was. Although we did not spend much in person time together, we shared many texts and photos of her kittens as they grew and I know hey kept us both laughing. She was a proud Abby Mom and breeder and went to great lengths to make sure her furbabies were well cared for regardless where they landed. I know her memory will live on with us through our kittens and we are certain she will be celebrated by all who knew her as family, friends and cat parents.

We are so sorry to hear the news about your mother. Losing a parent is almost too much to bear, but when you lose your mother and she’s your last parent, it’s even more overwhelmingly heartbreaking. We've had the joy of knowing her for close to 20 years now and because of her we've had the joy of living with two of her Abyssinians for over 17 years. Over those years we became very good friends. We shared the love of Abby's, had many a good laugh and likely also shed a few tears. Draw on all the memories (the great ones, the funny ones and likely some not so funny ones) to give you strength during this incredibly hard time. We will remember her fondly and will miss her deeply. Our hearts break with yours. With our deepest sympathy. Linda & Robert Cameron

Very sorry for your loss of your Mom. I am a fellow cat fanciers and spent many shows with your Mom and also your Dad. My husband, Peter, who has also passed, would be chatting up the show with our Dad while us ladies ran our cats to the rings. Always enjoyed their company.
