I will sincerely miss Ernie’s presence as our President and Past President of Region 3 for Halifax with the NSGREA (Nova Scotia Government Retired Employees Association). I always enjoyed our drives together. He was calm. Intelligent and funny. We had some great times together and I will miss him a great deal. May he rest in peace!

Sincere condolences. No amount of words can say enough for Ernie. He was extremely devoted, hard working and honest to the core. When I opened Odyssey-2000 he was one of the first persons to come in and for over 30 years we spoke on many, many occasions of our common fondness for comic books. We would even sit in his office at MV and talk and talk, which would sometimes flip me out a bit (and his co-workers) as he was so serious about his job. We would go to movies together and just have fun. He was my friend, and will be sorely missed.

I met Mr. Pass years ago when I did a project on the historic Halifax Capitol Theatre where he was Assistant Manager in the 1940s. He was a tremendous help in my research and we became good friends. For that I will always be grateful. My sincere condolences to you, Karen. You are in many ways like your father, gracious and kind. And you both like cats! My kind of people. xo Cynthia

To Ernie's family, I knew Ernie when we both were with the provincial govt. He was an extremely knowledgeable man about many things. I can remember going into his office and seeing his desk piled high with papers, probably 7-9 inches high. You would ask him a question and he could pull out from the pile the exact paper he needed. Amazing!!! Rest in peace Ernie.

So sorry to get your news of Ernie's death, Karen... It means there aren't many of us old ones left now. I'll miss sharing the South End dinners with you and your father - at least I got a chance to meet you. Ernie was a true gentleman, gentle, polite, courteous, and as a teacher - he was an excellent instructor and could be quite hilarious. The Motor Vehicle Department lost a knowledgeable and effective representative when he retired. So glad to have had a renewed friendship in our last years. with prayers, Barbara

Karen - please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. Ernie was one of the first neighbours we met when we moved to Williams Lake Road 27+ years ago. He was always so friendly, kind and made us feel welcome. I remember our chats over the fence while I dug around in the garden and he gave me advice; not just about gardening! (Smile) He always had a wise word or a joke to share. I hope all your wonderful memories of your father will help you through this difficult time. Sincerely, The Levermans (Douglas, Cecile, Myles & Jack)
