Thomas W. Aucoin, age 95, of Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
Born in Cheticamp, NS he was a son of the late Amedee and Marie (Chiasson) Aucoin.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War. He worked at the Department of National Defense in the design and drawing office for 27 years, after studying Engineering at Dalhousie University. He also studied naval architecture. He spent six years on the Engineering Certification Board and five years on the Credit Union Credit Board. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of Cheticamp Legion and Seniors Club.
Thomas enjoyed wood carving, calligraphy and coin collection.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Della; sons, Robert (Cindy) and Christopher (Donna); and grandchild, Matthew.
He was predeceased by his parents, Amedee and Marie; first wife, Dorothy; brothers, Clifford, Edmond (Bobby) and Clarence (Sarge).
Visitation will be held in St. Ignatius Church on Thursday, August 3 from 1:00-2:00 pm with funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm also in St. Ignatius Church, 5 Bedford St, Bedford.
Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville
