Joseph Angus Madore – 75 of Glace Bay passed away October 21, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit, Regional Hospital with family by his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Madore.
Joe worked at Devco for 31 years as a mine examiner. Joe was a long time member of Glace Bay Seniors Club. Joe’s passion was for dancing. He bowled for many years at Heather Lanes and was a volunteer with the school children bowling leagues. In younger years he played ball with the New Aberdeen Aces. He loved to walk his dog ‘Bear’ at Dominion Beach.
He is survived by his loving wife: Mary Lorraine MacKinnon; sons: Joey, Glace Bay, Robby (Sandra); Gary, both of BC; brothers: Billy (Joan), Nickie (Jean), Nashie, all of Glace Bay; sister: Theresa Brushett, Lake Ansley; grandson: Leland (mother) Audrey, Halifax; granddaughter: Jeadyn, BC; and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased his parents; sister Charlotte Timmons; brother in law Jackie; sister in law Laura; and niece Sandy.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the T.J. Tracey Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with reception to follow. Rev. Paul MacGillivary officiating. Interment at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or a charity of one’s choice.
