My wife and I have thought of Jessie so many times over the last year and a half. Wondering how she was doing….Jessie became very special to Annemarie and me the very first time we met her. We would chat a lot at Yellow Belly restaurant (in St. John’s) when we would go there for a meal. We were struck with her beauty, but also with her inner beauty. She was so intelligent, and warm and caring, and would always take the time to talk with us in a meaningful way. We saw that she had great potential and we imagined the best for her in what she might accomplish in life. As it is, her life was cut short, but it is clear that she accomplished so much when it is seen how much she was loved. We loved her too though time spent with her was fleeting. When she moved to another restaurant, we missed seeing her immensely. She touched out lives deeply. We cried when we heard the news about her passing (we only heard yesterday). The world has lost a precious, beautiful woman whose essence was love. Our sincere condolences to you. Bill and Annemarie Brennan, St. John’s, NL

My deepest condolences to Jessie’s friends and family. I had the pleasure of knowing Jessie as we were classmates when she returned to finish her Chemical Engineer degree. We hadn’t kept in touch the last few years, but I remember her as really cool gal. Very nice, very friendly and a lot of fun. I was very saddened to hear this news… My thoughts are with you.

Jessie was one of the kindest, wisest, most beautiful women I have ever met. She touched hearts and lit up lives around her. One of our girlfriends called Jessie, her unicorn. Apt as it’s hard to imagine someone so truly beautiful as being real, but there was never any doubt when it came to Jessie’s genuity. I don’t believe I ever heard her say anything unless she meant it. Jessie you will always be remembered, and loved, and so many of us feel your loss so very deeply right now. Words cannot express.

    Dear Cameron, Kathy and John,

We can’t express in words how sad we are about you losing Jessie. We know she was a wonderful daughter and sister. We remember your love for her when we hung out together at functions years ago or met you on the Sydney boardwalk. I remember you telling us that she was sick.

We are on a trip to Reno, Nevada right now. Saw the obituary in the online edition of the Cape Breton Post. We are so sorry.

Jessie was simply everything a person could be, brilliant, funny, empathic, thoughtful, genuine. I met her in University and I cannot think of that time without thinking of her. That was her fortune, to irreversibly enrich the lives of anyone who knew her.

My deepest condolences to her family.
