Deveau, Gerard Emilien, 97, of Halifax, NS passed away June 15, 2016 at Ivany Place, Bedford. Born in Salmon River, NS, he was a son of the late Laura (D’eon) and Simon Deveau.
Gerard attended St. Anne’s University in Church Point, receiving the Governor’s General Medal for Achievement and graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Saint Mary’s University. He was a teacher of drafting at the Halifax Vocational School and vice principal of Dartmouth Regional Vocational School. Gerard was a member of the Knights of Columbus and director of the church choir at St. Stephen’s Church. He was a math wiz who had many hobbies including golf and a love of music.
He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Belliveau), daughters Joan Deveau, Annette Morris, Cheryl (Steve) Lane; half sister Anne Marie Deveau; grandchildren, Natalie, Garett, Marcie, Suzanne, John Paul; great grandchildren, Devin, Jacob, Liam, Sophia, Taylor, Bryce, Vienna, and Phenwick.
He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Benoit and sister Zita Sears.
