It is with the greatest of sadness that I receive the news of the passing of Mrs G. (Jeannie) Boutin, the beautiful wife of my longtime friend Roger. My deepest condolences go out to the family of Jeannie and Roger. Jeannie was a one of the nicest people you could ever expect to meet and once you met her, you remembered her with fondness due to her kindness and beauty. God Bless You Jeannie and now that you and Roger are again re-united, may you both rest in ultimate peace. I will miss you both dearly.

Dear Pat, Judy, Vicky, Dorothy-Ann, Ted, Phyllis-Lee, Tracy,

Your family has always been in my heart from the time we were together when I was infant in your old house in Dartmouth to wonderful summers at the cottage on Waverley Road and happy times at the house (was it in Fall River?) and then Lower Sackville.

Your Mom and Dad and all of you showed this only child how loving and fun a big family could be. When I think of your parents’ capacity to love all of you and then take in extras like me, the Pooh’s and many others, I know we are all blessed by the expansive love they had to give.

I think sometimes as we grow into adults and have our own families, we don’t think that there may come a time when people special to us will no longer walk this earth. I don’t think I ever thought of a world without your Mom or your Dad. In my world, there is some truth to that. Although they won’t be here in person, on this earth, I know they will always be around – around you, around me, and around all those they loved.

Sometimes, when we least expect it, you will see one of them in the face of another, you will feel their presence as you open the fridge door, or go for a walk in a favourite place. To all of you, your Mom and your Dad gave you such a great gift: a loving, caring family.

Your Mom was a wonderful human being who knew how to love. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind.

Blessings to all of you and your families.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The first time I met Mama and Papa, they welcomed me with open arms and immediately treated me as part of the family. I regret not being able to get to know them better, but I know that their memories and traditions will live on with their loving family.
