Auntie Mary and Family, Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel for Don, and
no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in our thoughts and prayers.

Mary, Please accept our condolences on your loss. You may remember us from your days at Oakfield. Over many years we played with and chatted with Don frequently, always enjoying his company and attitude. Certainly he will be missed by all his golfing friends.
Unfortunately we are away and unable to attend his service.

Mary, Our deepest sympathy to you and the family. We were so shocked and saddened by Don’s passing. We considered him to be a great golfing buddy and an all round nice person to call a friend. Don’s smiles, jokes and quiet, unique sense of humour will not be forgotten. His emails about the Oakfield Golf Pool (with his astute observations) will sorely be missed. We are sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral as we are away. Sending our thoughts and prayers to you and the family at this sad time. Take care. Cheryl and Brent Moxon

    Mary and family,

We grieve with you at the passing of our dear friend. Hoop was so much more than a golfing buddy and a travelling companion. He was one of the most interesting men I have met and a cherished advisor on so many different matters. We will miss him, his conversation and his companionship. We will miss his kind, gentle and positive acceptance of life.

I am so sorry to hear of your husbands passing. Years ago I came across these words by Thomas Campbell and I found them comforting.

“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.”

I hope they may give you some comfort as well.
