David Thomas Tracey
It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of David, 54 years, of Reserve Mines, on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
David is survived by his loving wife Dale of 35 years, kind daughter Lindsey (Trevor) and two adorable grandsons, Lucas and Mason. Also surviving is his loving mother Trudy; sisters Peggy (Chuck), Debbie (Joey), Jeannie, Linda (Darren), Colleen (Brad), brothers Bunny (Colleen) Eddy, Robert, Kenny (Lezlee), Earl (Kim), Eric (Carol Ann), Trevor, special nephews Mitchell, Craig and Garret. Predeceased by his father Jigger, sister Sandy, Sharon in infancy and brother Greg. David also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and many close family and friends.
David was employed at the Glace Bay fisheries and later worked in Ontario with the Mississauga municipality and Alberta as a member of International Laborers Union as a construction laborer.
David was known for his desire to lend a hand to those in most need. His charm and sense of humour was most desiring, as you were sure to remember his beautiful blue eyes. David will be most remembered for his loyalty to his family and friends because he was a person that we could all rely upon. David was especially entertained by the stories of the neighborhood children. David was a very dedicated son to his mother “Trudy” as he never missed a day without a phone call or visit. One of David’s favorite sayings was “this is me, is that you”!
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport, with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Funeral arrangements are under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, (902) 849-4199.
Donations can be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care and The Canadian diabetes Association.
