Thank you Betty Lou. We were just so grateful that David got his one wish, that he be looking into the eyes of his true love (Colleen) as he left this life. It is something I will never forget and has instilled in me that we do need to appreciate every moment we have because the next one is never guaranteed.

I grew up with David in St. Peter’s and always considered him and his brothers Terry and Brian more than just close friends. They were and forever will be brothers to me. I have always known Dave to be one who marched to the beat of his own drum, and I loved him for that. You will be surely missed brother. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Belated condolences to the Sampson family…..may God keep you strong at this sad time.
As a token of sincere sympathy, Joe Stone, formerly of St. Peters, offers Robert Louis Stephenson’s ” REQUIEM ” :

Under the wide and starry sky

Dig the grave and let me lie,

Glad did I live and gladly die

And I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you ‘grave for me:

‘ Here he lies where he long’d to be,

Home is the sailor, home from the sea

And the hunter, home from the hill ‘.

    ( Rest In Peace )

David was a friend to everyone and was very kind and helpful to my father Gary across the street… I feel so sorry for your loss and we will all miss David and his wide grin and easy going personality.

Beverly had just shared the news of his illness with me a week or two ago. I am sorry he had so little time. Though I regret that I have found out about this too late to come and be with you tomorrow, my thoughts will be there. I will hold all of you in my heart as I sing the psalm in church tomorrow at the time you are together to remember him.

I grew up with David and the rest of his family in St. Peter’s. His obituary is a true memory of a guy who never had a “mean bone in his body”! Sad to hear he has left us…….

Dear family and friends of David :

We are so very sorry to hear of David’s passing. Quite a shock I am sure as I see he was diagnosed such a short time ago. I remember David as a sweet little boy living beside the canal when I would spend so many happy times there with you Bev. Thinking of all of you and wishing you peace and love and happy memories of your beloved David! So sorry for your loss! Love to all!
