July 29, 1977 – May 08, 2018
Casey, an avid Superman fan since childhood, fought a tough battle against colon cancer this past year, but ultimately Doomsday has won this round.
Casey will be remembered for her biting wit and generous heart by Mom, Eileen Rogers, and Grampy, Charlie MacIntosh, of Summerside, PEI; brother Chad (Mark Wong) of Toronto, ON; sister Becky (Andre Jacob) of Ottawa, ON; friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her niece and nephew, Jasmin and Liam Jacob, will remember the water gun fights, unlimited treats, and complete adoration that Casey showered upon them.
Casey has been happiest when taking care of those around her. She excelled as a resident caregiver, using humour, respect, and tough love to encourage her clients to have greater independence in their lives. It was her work that brought her to the Annapolis Valley, an area she quickly made home with deep friendships over the past 16 years.
Our family is forever grateful for the excellent care provided, and the professionalism, honesty and compassion shown by the medical teams at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville and the QEII in Halifax.
Casey has been an immensely private person, who always jumped to help and support others, but was never willing to have the spotlight shone on her. With respect for her wishes, family and friends will celebrate Casey’s life with a private reception only.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in her memory, Casey has chosen to support CHEO (the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) as an expression of gratitude for the superhero care they provided her “Little Buddy” Liam.
