Annie Sarah Surette, 91, of Halifax passed away January 21, 2017 at the V.G. Hospital.
Born in Harbour Breton, NFLD, she was a daughter of Capt. Henry and Ellen (Piercey) Hynes.
Annie dedicated her life to her home and her family always came first. She loved frequent family get togethers. Annie looked forward to going to Seniors Club to spend time with her many friends. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and a good friend to many. She will be missed by all.
Survived by son, Dennis (Geraldine), Hammonds Plains; daughters, Margaret (Mick) Nash, Denise Surette, both of Bedford, Joan (Brian) MacLeod, Halifax; daughter-in-law, Rose Surette, Bedford; sisters, Theresa, Susie and Margaret; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents; husband, Joseph Elie; son, Kevin Clarence; brothers, Sandy, Henry, Steve, Hughie, Clarence and Joe; sisters, Dot, Betty, Mary, Ellie and infant sister.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:30am in Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Annie’s memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Special thanks to all the staff at the dialysis Unit 6th floor, Dixon Center, and the Palliative Care Unit, 7th floor, VG Hospital for the excellent care, compassion and friendship provided to Annie.
